As of January 15, Amazonians and their dependents covered under an Amazon medical plan in the United States can get over-the-counter COVID-19 diagnostic tests without a prescription, and have it paid for up front or reimbursed by their Plan. The Plan will cover up to eight over-the-counter tests per individual, per month. Under the new policy announced by the White House last week, qualifying tests include any at-home tests that have been authorized by the Food and Drug Administration under Emergency Use Authorization while the public health emergency is in place.

This means covered Amazonians and their dependents can go to an in-network pharmacy, purchase a test kit, and either have it paid for up front by their Plan or be reimbursed for the cost by submitting a claim to the Plan. Amazonians are encouraged to present their Medical/Rx ID Cards at In-Network pharmacies to ensure $0 coverage; FDA approved tests obtained by out-of-network pharmacies or retailers, such as Amazon.com, will be reimbursed at a maximum of $12 per test.
